     报告题目：“Salt-related fluid systems:  examples from the Flinders Ranges of South Australia”

     报告人简介：Dr. Mark P. Fischer is a professor and Chair of the Department of Geology and Environmental Geosciences at Northern Illinois University, U.S.A.  His research focuses on brittle deformation of rock and ice, and combines field and laboratory studies with numerical and physical modeling of geological processes ranging from the emplacement of clastic dikes to fault-related folding, orogenic-scale fluid flow, salt tectonics and tidewater glacier motion.  As a senior researcher in the Institute for the Study of Fluids and Structures, Fischer has most recently conducted integrated studies of fracture-controlled paleofluid systems in map-scale folds and in the vicinity of salt-related structures.  His research group has worked in Mexico, Spain, France, and South Australia.  Dr. Fischer holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois, an M.S. from the University of Tennessee, and a Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University.  He is a Fellow of the Geological Society of America, and his research has appeared in the GSA Bulletin, Journal of Structural Geology, Journal of Glaciology, Tectonophysics, Geology, Journal of Geophysical Research, and the AAPG Bulletin.
